Sadly, the much anticipated release of "No Time to Die" has been delayed yet again (Thanks Rona!!!) but never the less, we found an unreleased short pour that we got to taste some whisky inspired by Bond's cousin in the CIA, Felix Leiter.

Join us as we welcome one of our favorite allies, Matt Holmes, back to the Secret Speakeasy to talk about some of Bond's best support staff.

B-S.E.A. Whiskey Underground - Short Pour -Glendronach Batch 8 Cask Strength

November 5, 2020

Remember, Remember the Fifth of November, In this episode of the Fine and Rare Series, we take a look at the 2019 Release of Glendronach's Batch 8.  By bottling the whisky at its natural cask strength of 61%, The GlenDronach Cask Strength offers a deeper insight into the distillery’s signature profile. The eighth release of this expression has been matured for 10 years in both Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks.  Take a listen and see how Master Blender Rachel Barrie selects the perfect marriage of these two cask styles before bottling without chill filtration and at high strength, as was the custom in the days when Guy Fawkes took his courage from the whiskey.

B-S.E.A. Whiskey Underground -Short Pour - Booker’s Batch 3, 2015

October 31, 2020

Getting back to the Fine and Rare series, we take a dram of an extinct whiskey, Booker's 3rd Batch of 2015.

The 3rd in the 2015 limited edition release series is known as "The Center Cut," honoring late Jim Beam Master Distiller Booker Noe, whose favorite part of the rickhouse was the center, the 5th floor. It also refers to his preference for thick slices of center cut meat, cured in his own smokehouse. For this release, current master distiller, his son Fred, continued Booker's legacy of gathering friends around the table to taste and select batches for his next bourbon by consulting a group of whiskey experts for this food-friendly batch, uncut and unfiltered.

October 29, 2020

In the Secret Speakeasy's first ever Cigar Night, Brandt and Scott welcome back their very own Norm, aka, Chris Trostle back to the outdoor section of the speakeasy as they guys drink some whisky and smoke some cigars.

Find out what cigars they paired with what whiskeys and then stick around for some Disney discussion about everything from Steak to PBJ...wait, no there was none of that talk.  But good times were had, and hopefully not the last cigar night in the Secret Speakeasy.

As we get back to our regular programming, we try a series of three whiskeys from Tennessee's most famous distillary, Jack Daniels.  In kind of a wood experiment, Jack takes their regular old No.7 black label and finishes it in three different ways.  Hear what happens when you try to make dung into gold.

May 23, 2020

A huge thanks to B-S.E.A. member Sara Ford as she presents us with a flight of whisky from Crown Royal's Noble Collection that definitely changes our opinion on The Crown.  This month we drink Crown's Cornerstone, Wine Finished, Bourbon Mash 13, XR Blue, and 75th Monarch Blend.  Should have saved this for 1 July, as it is a salute to all nations, but mostly Canada.
